We have moved on to Geometry for Math. Over the next 3 weeks or so our class will be busy learning all about 2-D shapes and their ATTRIBUTES. With Geometry comes a lot of new math specific words. We will be practicing this 'specialized vocabulary' and learning how to use it during our math classes. By now, your children should know how to explain an ATTRIBUTE (what we use to describe the features of polygons/shapes). Also, we have begun learning to identify right angles, obtuse angles and acute angles. To help at home, ask your kids to point out right angles around your house and in your neighbourhood. We had a lot of fun finding right angles in the classroom today.
